The Beginnings of SPORC
SPORC history & impact began in 1994 when Freddie Robinson saw a huge opportunity in metal recycling. While working at an aluminum recycling plant, he realized the potential for growth and sustainability in the industry. He famously said, “I can feed my family on buying aluminum cans alone.”
This belief was not just about making a living—it was about building something greater. Freddie and his wife, Angela Robinson, wanted to help local tradespeople and working-class families. They saw recycling as more than just waste management. It was a way for people to turn scrap into income. That vision led to the creation of South Post Oak Recycling Center (SPORC).
A Legacy of Growth: 30 Years of Impact
SPORC started as a small recycling center, but it quickly grew. Today, it is one of Houston’s most trusted recycling facilities. For three decades, SPORC has served households, contractors, industrial businesses, and government agencies.
This milestone anniversary is more than just a number. It’s a celebration of customers who rely on SPORC, a dedicated team committed to quality, and leadership focused on sustainability.
